  1. @eurisko67, oh yeah and really no accumulated retirement to make a difference. Considering what I can do in life since I don’t make all that much, inflated medical bills don’t scare me in the least and that was not a fear I lived with when I was bouncing around from job to job in the temp sector. Simply if I was in unstable work situations, I never had health ins.which afforded me the opportunity to live.Go back to your Canadian mud hut and debate Canadian issues b4 you jump into American ones.

  2. @eurisko67, that’s right eurisko67, I don’t own a house (too much insurance behind the cost anyway), no fancy car, and my other stuff I own is worth shit anyway. No one to take care of either. Bankrupt you say and at the mercy of an industry that has price gouged its citizens. FYI, when you said “your” existing healthcare I figured you were not of US origin and turns out I was right on that one which explains why you ducked the issues. And I guess that makes me the ignoramus for figuring u out

  3. @eurisko67, and you call me out for typing comfortably from my computer. And you are from where, Canada is it? LOL, your comments make perfect sense then and have no impact on America considering you don’t have a voice or a say in American affairs. Take care of your own issues in Canada before attacking other hard working Americans ya piece of shit. As for you wishing me not so well, all I can say is they can’t take assets I don’t even have LMFAO!!!

  4. @LanceDirk, what I’m pointing at is that when something becomes unaffordable by the month such as health ins. you simply don’t buy it. One has to live and bill the utility/rent bills and yes we are all free to drop pricey coverage. Existing insurers must be proud of themselves as they are pricing themselves right out of business. Either a massive unified boycott takes place to drive rates down or govt. restructures the industry but please no heavy handed mandates.

  5. @LanceDirk, I just read a comment elsewhere that is close associate with mine about completely eliminating the private insurers altogether. Now the obvious downside is that would mean people would be out of work, but in the name of higher premiums and probably what you might be getting at, yes the insurance racket in regards to medical costs have failed. We have Medicare, expand it and restructure the market. It will have its own issues but if you have to do something there ya go.

  6. @LanceDirk, Barack Obama did say “that is what elections are for.” He is absolutely right. The Democrats should just use the nuclear option and pass the dam thing already and take a stand. What do the Dems have to lose if over half of the country is behind getting something past. I’m sure they will survive in the November elections. If there is anything I hate more it is lack of a representative govt and more importantly a govt. that has cause more probs then it has created.

  7. @LanceDirk, the theory though behind single payor is the assumption that everyone is constantly working. While we are at it, may as well legalize all illegals that are here and get at their paychecks to. However I won’t tolerate a heavy handed insurance mandate which more or less would seem to favor insurers and not the citizenry. Govt. has been taking money out of our hands for years for Medicare. Perhaps govt. should just build around that and end medical ins.

  8. @LanceDirk, if it is about insuring 100% of everyone just like in other countries, then the true solution is destroying the medical insurance industry and increasing the medicare premiums that come out of our checks. Problem solved no more medical insurance industry. I’m surprised govt. hasn’t been straight forward on this, instead a mandate is proposed requiring everyone to buy insurance. It’s a joke.

  9. @LanceDirk, in my own personal situation where I’m was not making much, I really have nothing to lose if I am looking at high out of pocket costs. I got sick once where I actually needed a doctor and cost to me was $59. Tack on meds to that and it came out to $104. There are others out there that don’t require a doctor day in and day out. They system in itself is flawed but if govt wants to get this right, perhaps they should just expand medicare already and go single payor.

  10. @LanceDirk as far as maintaining health ins, when one thinks about it, what you pay into it is easilyt set aside for a trip to the doctor every month. $200 is money easily saved for a medical visit. This is why the high cost of insurance is just not sustainable because one isn’t get what they pay for and to me an ridicuously high monthly premium is somebody’s house payment, utlility bill, etc. etc.

  11. @LanceDirk, let the insurers keep raising rates and eventually they will soon be out of business for let’s say for price gouging. Same go for hospitals that have also risen costs out of scope of the public market. Personally once govt. heavily handed tells someone to purchase ins or else, it is a govt. that cannot be trusted and what I really dislike are people that blame others for their financial woes like the uninsured.

  12. @LanceDirk, sometimes it makes me wonder why the govt. would even oppose a mandate. Over time because of govt. involvement and other factors that have contributed, true medical costs have gone out of scope with the public market. Could it be we had a perfect system at one time b4 the influx of illegals into the country that couldn’t pay. I honestly don’t think the govt. is connecting the dots here and oh what a shocker, make everyone participate or fine them.

  13. @shaithis45 No one is suggesting subsidizing them. Just providing another option, like having the post office but also being able to choose FedEx or UPS.

  14. @shaithis45 Insurance rates are too high and people are dropping out. Where’s the price drop and market adjustment? Capitalism, like every other economic theory, is perfect in theory, but not in practice.

  15. @eurisko67, here is where you now lose big in being exposed as someone that is not an American citizen:

eurisko67 (August 20, 2009 at 12:12 pm). Yup. I’m from Scotland as well. But I’m also a Canadian citizen, so if I came up with a new invention while here, …

OOPS!!! I guess you don’t have an opinion seeing as you are a foreigner :) Nice try eurisko67 but don’t make a comment about American issues or news agencies if you are not an American citizen. Now who is the joke. l8tr…

  16. @eurisko67, my next guess with the way you have been ducking American issues is that you could actually be from somewhere in Canada. eurisko67, I’m going to go out on a limb that you are not an American citizen.

  17. @eurisko67, so tell me are you British. This is just a wild guess based on some of your past comments. Hey bud we kicked your ass once and we will do it again. You guys couldn’t even hold onto your empire ROFLMFAO!!!! Stop trying to suggest that Americans need to be taxed more or perhaps have if the Brits have infiltrated American govt. then perhaps we need send them running back across the Atlantic.

  18. @eurisko67, and if your next comment is “ignoramus” or “I hope something bad happens to you” this calls you out as a person who may be falsely claiming he/she is in finance. Actually it is your choice of vocabulary that is now in question. C’mon eurisko67 you started this by trying to down a news agency so what else do ya got. Let’s keep the exchanges going :)

  19. @eurisko67, so here’s my ideal that I’ll repeat. Take a lesson from history and boycott all health insurance providers that price gouge or is this nation that fucking divided to take a stand and make a statement. Oh yeah that’s right take the easy way out and blame the uninsured for the fact that you chose to do bad business and pay higher premiums instead of shop around. That is also a cop out. FYI, in case you haven’t figured it out I don’t buy into scams and illegally proposed mandates.

  20. @eurisko67, you just don’t sound intelligent enough to me to want to debate abuses in the U.S. workforce. We all come from all walks of life eurisko67. Mine took me through the bowels of the U.S. workforce however I don’t forget who I worked with or where I came from. Really thinking the U.S. has progressed is a real joke and if you think that govt. can tell a person what to buy and when, then you are gravely mistaken. It was never about health insurance and govt. hasn’t done its homework.

  21. @eurisko67, you say YOUR A#1 health care system. Interesting so are you saying you are not of U.S. origin. LOL what country are you fucking from because you don’t know the American economy one iota and don’t have the brain power to figure out how it all links in or recognize the list of long term abuses by the U.S. govt. You can’t even commit to any discussion or talking points. Do you have any ideals regarding much of any issue or are you just here to fuck around?

  22. @eurisko67, unless you have blind as to what I’ve stated to date, I actually brought up a very good counterpoint. You’ve offered shit to the conversation. I brought up the ideal of boycotting insurances companies. That’s right BOYCOTT. Have you forgotten the civil rights movement of the sixties. That might actually bankrupt the insurers and perhaps crash the cost down to more reasonable levels but no, you can’t talk about anything can you. You are the biggest joke here with your false hopes.

  23. @eurisko67, well since you keep ducking the issues you reap what you sow now and in the future. And what idiot starts hoping and threatening. Sir are you even from the U.S. to begin with? Such a big word coming from an adult such as ignoramus however sounds like you are young kid that doesn’t know shit in the way the economy functions or that when you have bad govt. everything suffers.

  24. @shaithis45 Oh, and since you obviously didn’t visit Wiki, let me clarify the other issue. Victims of slave labor DO NOT GET PAID, by the mile, by the hour, or via any other method. They are forced to work for scraps of food, a pile of hay to sleep on, or to keep their families out of harms way. And you whining about not being paid some OT equating to slave labor, is put simply, loathsome. You sir, are a joke.

  25. @shaithis45 Ah, more martyr syndrome. I called you an ignoramus, boohoo. Shall we list the litany of derogatory names you’ve called me? But no, you’re the victim here aren’t you.

Here’s what I hope for you. I hope you have an accident, and the medical expenses of that accident bankrupt you (as happens with thousands per year) and then let’s see what you have to say about your existing A#1 healthcare system. Debate that ignoramus.
